Thames Valley accountants and business advisers James Cowper Kreston has been appointed by Oxford Homeless Pathways to provide audit, accounting support and general business and tax advisory services. The appointment was made on 22 February following a competitive tender involving three firms.

A registered charity, Oxford Homeless Pathways, relies on grants and donations and last year received income of £2.5 million to provide accommodation and welfare to homeless people.  The charity provides vital assistance to some of the most vulnerable people in society through its emergency accommodation at O’Hanlon House and to those working towards independent living in its Julian Housing properties.

James Cowper Kreston partner Mike Farwell and director Andy Jones said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Oxford Homeless Pathways. Working in partnership with other organisations, the team achieves life changing results on a daily basis by helping clients realise their resettlement goals and deal with the issues that led to them being homeless.”

Mike and Andy added: “At James Cowper Kreston we take great pride in the work we do for local, regional and national charities.  The firm has a strong track record in this sector; we understand the issues and pressures facing charities and are able to respond accordingly.”

Commenting on why the trustees appointed James Cowper Kreston, Lesley Dewhurst, Chief Executive at Oxford Homeless Pathways said: “James Cowper Kreston showed a good understanding of our needs and requirements.  We found them to be interesting, enthusiastic and proactive and look forward to working with James Cowper Kreston over the coming months and years.”

James Cowper Kreston acts for a number of charities across the Thames Valley and further afield including Oxford Diocesan Council for Social Work (“PACT”), Purley Park Trust, Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust, The British Dyslexia Foundation and a number of independent schools, including The Oratory School in Reading.
