It has been one hundred years since accountancy firm James & Cowper, as was, first opened its doors in Newbury to offer expert accountancy and taxation services to local owner manager businesses and private individuals.
Over the years the firm expanded its reach, opening further offices in Reading, Oxford, Southampton and London, has undergone several brand refreshes and name changes and added further specialist services to their offering to clients.
‘Today James Cowper Kreston has grown to become one of the leading independent firms of accountants and business advisors in the Southern Region. Although much has happened over the years, and the client base and services provided has widened, the firms core offering of working with growing, entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals and our key values of working with our clients and staff to help them Maximise their Potential remain the same now as they have always been’ commented Sue Staunton, Joint Managing Partner.
The firm launched the 100-year celebrations with a staff event on board HMS Warrior at Portsmouth Historic Boatyard and further events for past partners, alumni, clients and intermediaries are planned over the next 12 months.
‘Its great to be able to mark this landmark anniversary and we are looking forward to being able to spend time with past and present colleagues, clients and the business community over the coming months who have helped shape our success over the years’ said Alex Peal, Joint Managing Partner. ‘We are also delighted to announce as part of our anniversary the formation of the James Cowper Kreston Foundation to further continue our work to support charities in the geographies where our business operates.’
‘We’d like to thank everyone that has been involved with our business and made it what it is over the past 100 years’.
