Press ReleasesThames Valley accountants and business advisers James Cowper Kreston presented the Best Emerging Biotech award to LondonPharma at Oxfordshire Bioscience Network’s (OBN’s) annual awards dinner on 12 September at The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
The prize was presented by James Cowper Kreston partner and head of Technology Sue Staunton. In its citation OBN praised the unique sublingual delivery route pioneered by LondonPharma for a variety of drugs. It was, said OBN, shown to be faster and better absorbed by the body compared with conventional tablets.
Clive Booles, Research and Development Director of LondonPharma said: “We are extremely proud to have won this award which is a great tribute to the hard work and foresight of our staff. The company’s development has been substantially boosted by the award and we are looking forward to the future with renewed confidence. Its impact will be to raise our profile within the biotech sector enabling us to open important doors more easily. Our thanks go to James Cowper Kreston for sponsoring the award.”
Dr Jon Rees, OBN’s CEO, said: “With the backdrop of a tough financing climate it is great to measure and celebrate the tangible commercial achievements in UK life sciences.”
The dinner celebrated a range of achievements and major success stories in biotech, medtech and diagnostics over the past year. Crescendo Biologics and Immunocore joined LondonPharma in the shortlist for the Best Emerging Biotech award.
