James Cowper Kreston shortlisted in two categories at national Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency Awards

We are delighted to announce that our TRI team has been shortlisted in two categories for this year’s Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency Awards.

The firm’s specialist TRI team has been shortlisted for Corporate Restructuring Firm of the Year (4-10 Licensed appointment-taking Insolvency Practitioners) and Paul Davies, Partner, has been individually shortlisted for Corporate Restructuring IP of the Year.

Alongside the increasing complexity of the instructions in the last twelve months, the team has had stellar growth (up by 20% to 12 people) and a nearly 300% increase in turnover, from £1.21m to £3.38m, across its London, Southampton, Oxford, Reading and Newbury offices.

Some of the work the team has undertaken this year included the trading administrations of Royale Life companies. Involving 33 different entities, 36 separate locations including 28 residential parks as well as separate developments and property companies, the administrations involved 2,000 individual unit and plot claims from circa 30 different parties.

“This has been a huge job for the firm” says TRI Partner Paul Davies. “We represented the largest lender in a group of lenders and helped to secure sales for all 36 sites. The urgency to help secure sales on sites was a key consideration, and we were delighted to help all the residents, many of which are elderly, to keep their homes.”

Commenting on the shortlisting Paul continues, “Over the past 17 years, the TRI Awards has become recognised as the UK’s foremost celebration of excellence in the Turnaround, Recovery and Insolvency Industry and I am thrilled to have been shortlisted alongside some of my esteemed peers for this award.”
