Press ReleasesThe results of the 2017 Charity Finance Audit Survey were published in December and James Cowper Kreston have once again come out with some excellent results.
The annual Charity Finance Audit Survey is used by charities to ‘assess the audit market’ so that they are able to ‘save money and improve the services they receive’ by benchmarking performance of their current auditors. The survey questions were wide ranging from: ‘how do you rate your auditor on corporate social responsibility’ to enquiring about any issues and problems that the charity has experienced with their chosen firm.
The Satisfaction Index is made up of auditors being measured on their charity expertise, corporate social responsibility and overall service, on a scale of ‘Good’, ‘Average’ or ‘Poor’. Clients of James Cowper Kreston responded with 100%, 93% and 93% ‘Good’ ratings respectively, with no respondents reporting that the firm was ‘Poor’ in any aspect.
Respondents were also asked ‘what factors were important when choosing your auditor’: 64% cited an understanding of the charity sector as the most important (James Cowper Kreston scored 100% on expertise) while 56% stated that fees were the deciding factor for them (no clients of James Cowper Kreston stated that their fees were too high).
Mike Farwell, head of the Charities and Education team at James Cowper Kreston said: “It is wonderful to see that our clients have rated us positively across the board. Customer satisfaction, value for money and a deep understanding of the sector is something we strive for, not just with our charities and education clients but across the entire firm and it is gratifying to see it is recognised by our clients.
“The fact that clients from all over the country value knowledge of the sector is great news for all firms who, like ourselves, ensure that our teams consist of experts in charity tax and audit. Overall we couldn’t ask for a better result.”
