Press ReleasesFrench specialists in data & telecom infrastructure, Folan, has acquired their British counterpart, Mainframe Communications enabling them to gain a larger presence in the UK fibre market.
Mainframe was founded in 1988 and owned until now by founders, brothers Ian and Bill Carter. Mainframe Communications specialises in the design, assembly and distribution of passive optical equipment, solutions and connectivity for FTTx, industry, data centres and optical LAN.
Along with Folan gaining a stronger presence in the UK market, the acquisition will lead to an increase in Folan’s international operations, the contribution increasing to over 40 percent of its income, compared with the present 15 percent.
Led by Brad McAvoy, the Corporate Finance team at James Cowper Kreston provided due diligence assistance and tax structuring advice to Folan on their acquisition.
