Press ReleasesAfiya Johnson and Ioana Brutaru volunteered to attend a speed networking event aimed at providing school children an insight into a large range of careers within the Solent region.
They shared their experiences with children aged 11-13, helping to give them an understanding of how to achieve working for an accountancy firm and what it is like to work for James Cowper Kreston.
"We found the Future Finders event and helping school children understand their options and career paths for the future very satisfying. The day involved a speed networking activity interacting with the children giving them an insight into following a career in different industries and how, at this age, they can start pursing that. Leaving school is a scary thought and this is a great way to get involved to help school kids to be more aware of the opportunities ahead. It also gave us a chance to think outside the box and take from our own experiences of going through the different routes of education and being able to pass that on. The part we found difficult was to put ourselves into the shoes of a 11 to 13 year old school kid and to understand how accountancy can be described from their perspective. All in all we had a great day and it was a good opportunity to promote how working in the business industry is not as boring as it may sometimes appear." Said Afiya and Ioana.
