The App, which is available on both Apple and Android platforms, gives users instant access to key financial information, such as important dates and deadlines for filing tax returns, tax information tables and a range of pre-programmed calculators, such as a company car ‘benefit in kind’ and a stamp duty calculator.
The free App also includes a handy mileage tracker that allows users to automatically and accurately record mileage when using their car for work-related trips, and a useful receipts manager whereby a user can photograph a receipt and record expenses at the touch of a button.

The pre-programmed calculators can, for example, instantly determine how much VAT has or will need to be paid, corporation tax based on profits, income tax based on wages, and inflation rates. There is additional functionality to help explore the ways to increase profit margins, one to calculate the ‘benefit in kind’ value of a company car and another that can advise on how much less tax a business would have to pay if it was a Limited Company.
The key dates section for small businesses provides a useful reminder of the critical tax deadlines to help avoid having to pay hefty penalty provisions for late payments. The tax information tables provide quick reference guides for a range of areas such as VAT, Capital Gains Tax, Corporation Tax Rates and National Insurance Contributions.
The App ‘James Cowper Kreston Accountants’ can be downloaded for free from the App Store for iPhone and iPad or from Google Play for all Android phones and tablets.
